Reverend Dr. D'Hati T. Burgess Sr.

D.T. Burgess, Sr. is a native of New Haven, CT. He's the eldest of five children. Early in his life he showed a unique willingness to be used by the Lord in the building up of God's Kingdom.  God anointed him with the gift of playing the piano and organ at the age of 10. Over the years D'Hati has provided services to various churches within the community as minister of music.

He served for six years as minister of music at St. Luke Church under the leadership of Dr. Jesse Polite. He returned later in 1997 to his home church Union Temple UFWB Church under the leadership of the late Bishop Epps. In that same year he was married to his wife Geneva Simmons and out of this blessed union, 4 beautiful children were born.

On December 5, 1999, D'Hati T. Burgess, Sr. preached his initial sermon entitled "Perpetual Praise" using the scripture text (Psalms 145:1-3). D'Hati decided to empower himself and further his education in biblical studies and theology at Christian Leadership Bible College, Hartford Seminary. He currently is a member of Hampton University Ministers Conference in Hampton, VA since June 2000. September 14, 2002, Minister D'Hati T. Burgess, Sr. was ordained Elder in the Unison Freewill Conference.

In November 2003, Elder Burgess received yet another call on his life of which he wrestled with for some time. After seeking spiritual guidance from his mentors Bishop Jessie Jones and Dr. Jesse Polite, on January 8, 2004 Elder Burgess conducted the first bible study for Kingdom Empowerment Fellowship Ministries.

In February 2010, God shifted Pastor Burgess' ministry and he is now the senior pastor of First Church of God, New Haven, CT.  Since becoming the pastor he has continued to empower himself and has achieved a doctorate degree of divinity from American Bible University. Dr. Burgess had dedicated himself to staying focused on God's word and living the motto of empowering oneself to empower others. "He that soweth to his flesh reap corruption; he that soweth to the spirit shall of the spirit reap life everlasting." (Galatians 6:8)
